She thinks for a minute and then gets up to leave the room. "Stay here a moment."
When Nadja returns, she's bearing the angry-looking bearskin rug with head attached, that she puts over Makima's shoulders, lap, and legs.
"This is the bear that murdered my mother. I later came back to kill him and skin him. Now I will give him to you, so you can know that some part of me will always be there to protect you."
Nadja nods, pleased she could make Makima at least a little bit more comfortable. The bear is snarling but its pelt is very soft. It's been expertly taxidermied, probably by Nadja herself.
"It will keep you company until we can get you some adorable little animals."
Makima can carry the bear. It's just... a lot and she doesn't want to drag it on the ground. She'll probably put it on the ground in her cabin, though. And lay on it a lot.

She almost feels sick with the mix of warmth and rage. With how much it makes her feel and how much she hates that she's being made to feel something.
She's surprised when she finds her own hand sliding over the fur, testing it, seeing whether it's soft or coarse.
She looks up at Nadja and her eyes are carefully blank. Very carefully.
"Thank you, Nadja."

She can't do the second one because it would hurt Nadja.
She wants to hurt Nadja.
She wants to get her gun back.
But she hates that she has to get it through Nadja.
"I should probably bring it back to my cabin."
